At SBI, we consider it to be part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) to contribute to the creation of a more eco-friendly world and to lessen the negative effect of our operations through the use of sustainable methods. Everyone in the organization is impacted by our sustainability activities, from our dedicated front-line to our dedicated sustainability Manager.
SBI’s contributions to social and environmental sustainability include not only the value our projects provide to communities and ecologies, but we also take into account local residents, land, water, and natural Eco – Systems.
By employing recyclable resources, like foamed bitumen, certified wood, scrap tires, and used oil. Our contractors reduce the amount of raw material we utilise and work to reduce waste.
SBI scouts camp sites for places with the least potential for damage to habitats and biodiversity. As projects near completion, we make every effort to preserve the environment through the reuse of topsoil and the stabilization of slopes with vegetation and other ecologically important elements.
To reduce the effects of any activity, SBI implements green practices and initiatives such as dust control and a new generation of heavy machinery. We are proud to support renewable energy by Building hydropower plants and water reservoirs that generate hydroelectricity is something we are happy to support.
SBI incorporates human rights provisions in contracts with suppliers and contractors, educates all employees about ethical practices, and routinely assesses compliance with our policies. In addition to ensuring that all our employees’ rights are upheld, we are committed to hiring employees of various racial backgrounds, gender identities, and religious convictions.
SBI donors the customs, traditions, and heritage of local communities. We ensure that we notify, relocate, and compensate those affected by projects through our resettlement action plan based on the client’s needs.
Environmental and Social Sustainability Performance Standards: To be financed by the International Finance Corporation, a branch of the World Bank Group, SBI must adhere to the 8 th Performance Standards on Social and Environmental Sustainability set forth by the International Finance Corporation, a division of the World Bank Group, in order to receive funding from it. Our extensive efforts serve as evidence that we not only fulfill these criteria but frequently surpass them.
ISO 14001: ISO 14001 lays out the international standard for an effective environmental management system (EMS). It provides a framework that can be followed regardless of the project or initiative, as opposed to strict environmental performance requirements.
